1. When you're clearing out clutter, don't forget all the gardening tools, grilling supplies, and outdoor toys that are crowding your deck and yard (in front of the neighbors, no less)! If you'd like to simultaneously increase storage space and seating in your yard, try an outdoor storage bench. Outdoor storage benches come in two basic types: benches and deck boxes.

2. An outdoor wood storage bench looks much like a regular outdoor bench, but it has a built-in storage box under the seat. The seat lid lifts up for easy hidden storage. They can be standard or backless benches, and cushions can be added for seating comfort.

3. Deck boxes are just what they sound like: an outdoor storage box for your deck or yard. They have lift-up or removable lids and can easily store your backyard toys and tools. Smaller deck boxes with inner liners are even great for storing beverages. Deck boxes are available in classic wood but also come in other materials; a recycled plastic deck box is great by a pool.

4. A Step 2 outdoor storage bench can be great for your kids' outdoor toys. They're made of durable resin. And, as an added bonus, since they're kid-sized, the kids can be encouraged to pick up their own toys (good luck!).
