Comments about Lutyens Garden Bench:

The bench is very nice BUT I was very disappointed to find that it has been coated with linseed oil, which gives it a strong orange-ish color. I had expected to either let it weather to gray, or to stain it with a soft gray weathering stain.

Now I am going to attempt to paint over the linseed oil. I called to ask about this (after purchase) and did not get much help.

Because of the unattractive color that may not be possible to cover up, I would not recommend it.

Minor fit-up and assembly issues such as holes drilled on wrong side, but bench is very attractive and went together in less than an hour. Recommend anchoring it as it WILL blow over in the wind and crack on impact. Follow recommendation to store indoors during the winter - does not weather the snow and ice well.
