I bought this item as a gift for a needy family with 7 children-they will use it as seating space in their small kitchen. I really needed a bench that was sturdy and yet not expensive. It is indeed very strong and super easy to assemble but I was really surprised at how attractive it is. The family was really pleased and I think it will survive even these very active children!

I ordered a bench and received a chair, when I called I was told the bench was out of stock. No record of out of stock on the site, the package sent was marked chair quite clearly and I have had to go through the added time of going to return this via fedex and waiting for my account money to be returned

These are sharp looking benches and sturdy, too. They look great with my mix-and-match kitchen table and they're equally great for seating large groups. When the time comes when I think I need to redecorate (and oh yes, it will come. I know myself well), these benches will be great in our hallways or beneath windows. Love the color, the price, everything about 'em!

I bought this to have in my entry area for seating to put on/remove shoes. It's the right size and doesn't overwhelm our modest entry (couldn't really use a traditional hall tree/bench there). I do wish it was made in the USA, as I try to buy American whenever possible. It has plastic feet under the legs, so I had to add felt pads so the feet would not scratch my hardwood. The color is also a very orange-y honey hue. A bit more warm in color than the pic on my computer. My bench had some dark variations in the wood (areas of very dark, almost black parts), one of which was on the top of the bench. It's not desirable, but since the price is so reasonable, I'm willing to live with it (does not affect function or safety). That said, I love the simple, straight-forward design, it was easy to assemble (even while watching a 2 year old), the stain is consistent throughout and it is very stable and functions great for our use.
