Bought this to add a decorative touch to the hallway from the front door to the living room. Also to give me a storage area for shoes n work boots along with hat and uniform top. I must say....it definitely adds a nice decorative touch and gives us plenty of space to store all our commonly worn shoes without clutter and mess. The mirror adds a nice appearance and the color is really attractive. The pieces had me skeptical when assembling but it turned out really well and sturdy. I weight 240 @ 6'2" and it holds me perfectly fine when putting on my boots and taking them off. The shock strut on the hinged door is designed nicely and opens automatically with an initial lift of about 4-6 inches. Overall this purchase is one of the most appreciative and valued I have made recently. [...] Definitely will use Hayneedle again!

I've purchased tons of furniture that needed to be assembled after purchase and I have to say that I haven't seen a piece that was this bad in a very long time. The top is basically three panels that are assembled together with slats on the back and the screws strip and the product is very flimsy after assembly. The instructions were so bad I had to disassemble it twice to get it correct. Nearly half the screws stripped or were too short to hold this together properly.
I would not recommend getting this. The price seems like a deal and it looks nice, but this will not last. I'm afraid to sit on the bench thinking this thing is going to collapse. Absolutely wins the prize for the worst piece of furniture i've ever purchase before. I'm not sure I will ever purchase from hayneedle again. The quality of the merchandise that is sold here is very poor.

Comments about Richland Hall Tree - Espresso:

On the whole, this product was pretty easy to assemble. My aunt and I were able to put most of it together in about an hour. However, we found screwing in the bench seat difficult because of the angle. We had to enlist the help of my uncle, who is pretty handy. He had no trouble with it. The hall tree is really beautiful and sturdy. It is nice, solid wood - not flimsy particle board. I think it's a great piece of furniture, especially for the price.

Comments about Richland Hall Tree - Espresso:

great entryway furniture, beautiful design. only problems we encountered was attaching the door of the chest part, which was very difficult to screw in, and the piece being just slightly unstable, but not dangerously so. other than that, though, we love the piece and would definitely recommend it to friends.

Comments about Richland Hall Tree - Espresso:

I received one of these and immediately noticed a large hole in the box that went through the flimsy styrofoam through to the product. When I opened the box not only was the exposed piece scratched but other pieces were broken. The styrofoam used for packing was of such poor quality that it took us over an hour to get all the particles from us and our house. I ordered a replacement and the exact same problems occured again. I was offered another replacement and I refused and returned them both.

        Service and delivery comments:

The delivery was on time, however, I received the product with a hole in the box and scratched and broken pieces. I was delivered a second unit it also came with hole in box with scratched and damaged pieces. Packaging is terrible. Styrofoam broke into tiny pieces with the slightest touch and took an hour to clean up after each one. Returned both for a refund. Customer service was good and helpful. Need better packaging. I have been informed that UPS and FED EX are not really equipped to handle furniture and fragiles. The better furniture companies use specialized shippers because of damage.

Using in the entryway. Needed more storage space for coats, etc...Product is flimsy but a nice design. It will do until I can afford something better. This one wasn't worth [$]. Maybe $225.
